Round up of DAY ONE in Poznan

Day One in Poznan was a day for winners and losers. Local fans were able to raise the roof when their side beat both men's and women's teams from Australia. Namibia, not one of the world's most famous hockey nations, conceded a total of 30 goals - 18 against Germany in the men's game and 12 against Belarus in the women's game.

Amongst the nations who are better known for their outdoor prowess, Australia were not alone in being humbled. Agentina went down 2-1 to the Ukraine in Women's Pool A. The Netherlands scraped a 2-1 win over Canada their match in Men's Pool A.
