Leicester won their first promotion pool match at the European Indoor Clubs Trophy in Abbeville, France, yesterday, with a hat-trick of goals from Chloe Rogers in their 3-2 win over the host side. Leicester play their final promotion pool match against the winners of Pool B, Dundee, later today.
Leicester are currently in third place, having entered the promotion pool with no points carried over. However, a win against the Scottish side should see them finish second and win promotion for England back into the cup division next year.
In the England Hockey League there were two late results in the Men's East Conference yesterday. Holcombe beat Old Loughtonians 4-2, with all the Holcombe goals coming from their former international David Matthews. The game between Bromley and Beckenham was not played due to a flooded pitch.
