East Grinstead lost their third and final Pool B match in the European Indoor Clubs Championships in Luzern this morning when they went down 4-2 to Club de Campo de Madrid. The English team were trailing 3-0 by half time and two second half goals from Mats Grambusch and Mark Pearn were not enough to save them from defeat.
East Grinstead now go into the relegation pool and play their first match in that pool later this afternoon. Unfortunately, because their only win in Pool B was against the eventual pool winners, Amsterdam, they will not be carrying forward any points.
The final pool finishes are:
Pool A: 1. Mannheimer 15 pts (+14), 2. Dinamo Ekaterinburg 11 pts (+3), 3. WKS Grunwald 6 pts (+1), 4. Menzieshill 0 pts (-18).
Pool B: 1. Amsterdam 11 pts (+1), 2. Luzern 8 pts (+2), 3. Club de Campo 8 pts (+1), 4. East Grinstead 6 pts (-4).
