GREAT BRITAIN DRAW FIRST TEST AGAINST GERMANY

Great Britain achieved a creditable draw against world champions Germany in the first of a three match test series in Dusseldorf this evening (Thursday). GB's Simon Mantell opened the scoring from a pass from Matt Daly in the 24th minute. After the break the Germans came back strongly, with Sebastian Draghaun scoring from a penalty corner, followed by a goal in open play by Florian Keller. With under two minutes left to play Jonty Clarke (pictured) netted the ball after Ashley Jackson had won the ball in midfield and broken into the circle. Final score 2-2.

Great Britain play the second of the series against Germany on Saturday.
