CHAMPIONS TROPHY ENDS IN EIGHT GOAL FINAL

After a disappointing 0-0 draw yesterday, Argentina and Germany were back in action today in the finals of the Women’s Champions Trophy in Monchengladbach. This time around the goals came freely, with Argentina going into the break 3-1 up from goals by Garcia, Gulla, and Rebecchi. Germany’s goal came off the stick of Janine Beermann. Both sides doubled their score in the second half with Gulla scoring two more to give her a hat trick, and a goal from Argentina’s Claudia Burkart and Germany’s Kerstin Hoyer. Final score 6-2.

The bronze medal was won by the Netherlands who defeated China 3-0. Australia finished fifth after beating Japan 3-0.
