Round-up of Saturday in the EHL

This weekend sees the resumption of the EHL after its winter layoff. Saturday saw some intriguing and high scoring matches in the Women's Premier Division, with the leaders meeting in a five-goal clash which could have changed the top of the table. Second placed Slough, fresh from their success in the indoor finals, were hosts to top placed Leicester. Leicester's Hannah MacLeod opened the scoring afer 13 minutes but Slough were soon on even terms thanks to a Jane Smith goal. The scores stayed even until a few minutes into the second half, when Rebecca Herbert opened a six-minute goal spree which saw Slough concede three goals. Crista Cullen and Vicky Winters both converted penalty corners giving Leicester a 4-1 victory. This puts Leicester four points ahead of Slough, with Canterbury in third place.

Four goals also featured in two other Women's Premier matches. Ipswich put four passed struggling Docaster for a reply of one, with each teams' Jo Ellis getting on the score sheet. Out-of-form Chelmsford scored four against Old Loughtonians for no reply.
