BRAY'S GOLDEN GOAL GIVES GREAT BRITAIN GOLD

For the second year in succession, Great Britain's women have won gold against Australia in the Australian Youth Olympics in Sydney. GB went into the second half 1-0 down and so remained the score until the last two minutes. Sarah Page then equalised for GB only to see Australia re-take the lead seconds later. With less than minute remaining, Harriet Pearce scored an equaliser forcing the match into golden goal extra time. It was Sophie Bray who gave GB victory with a goal in open play after seven minutes of extra time. Final score 3-2 to GB.

Goals from Kenny Bain (PS), Martin Scanlon, Chris Gregg (2) and Simon Faulkner, gave GB a 5-2 win and the bronze medal in their match against Malaysia in the men's tournament.
