JACKSON PULLS TWO BACK IN HAMBURG

England suffered a second defeat in the Hamburg Masters this afternoon, when they played Australia.

England managed to keep a clean sheet until the 24th minute when Christopher Cirello deflected the ball into the England net from a long corner. Jamie Dwyer then made it two from the penalty spot just before the break. Australia increased their lead to 4-0 when their Glenn Turner scored twice in four minutes shortly after the restart.

But Australia were not to have it all their own way. A drag flick from Ashley Jackson (pictured) reduced the deficit and minutes later Jackson recorded his second, this time from open play. It was the Australians who were to have the last say however, with Des Abbott scoring just before the final hooter. Final score 5-2.

England will play the Netherlands tomorrow.
