England will face Japan in the quarter finals of the World
League Semi Finals, which are due to be played in Johor on Thursday.
Today’s final Pool B match saw England face Malaysia, who
had one win and a draw under their belt, two points above England in the table.
England got their name on the scoreboard first, with a penalty corner from
Richard Smith, but the Malaysians were quick to equalise thanks to Tengku Ahmad
Tajudin Abdul Jalil. We hope her doesn’t
score too often as we are likely to run out of ink if he does.
In the second half England regained the lead – Barry
Middleton the scorer – and the match ended 2-1 in Englands favour.
The other Pool B match ended South Africa 2 Pakistan 6.
At the end of the pool stage Pool B stood as follows: 1.
Pakistan 5 pts (+4), 2. England 5 pts (+1), 3. Malaysia 4 pts (+1), 4. South Africa 1 pt

In Pool A, Argentina continued their success in this
tournament with a 3-0 win over Korea, whilst Germany beat Japan 3-1.
