In a chilly reprise of last season, only three matches were played in the women's England Hockey League today due to snow and ice.
The return of their internationals were reflected in the scoresheet when Reading played Cannock in the only game in the Premier Division. A hat-trick by Alex Danson and goals from Kate Walsh, Jo Ellis and Helen Richardson, gave the home side a 6-2 win over Cannock. Reading move up one place in the table to sixth but, of course, nobody else was playing today.
In the Conferences Dereham remain resolutely stuck at the bottom of the East table on zero points after being beaten 2-1 by Horsham. Barnes Hounslow Ealing had a useful 2-1 win away against Exe. There were no other Conference matches played.
