ENGLAND’S LEAD SNATCHED BY INDIA

England lost their second match in their three match series against India at the University of Birmingham yesterday evening (Friday).

England seemed to be in command when goals by Ashley Jackson and Jonty Clarke gave the home side a 2-1 lead to take into the second half. Arjun Halappa had been India's scorer from a penalty corner in the 35th minute. But England's lead was short lives as Dhananjay Mahadik and Rajpal Singh scored in quick succession shortly after the restart. Gurvinder Chandi scored a fourth for India as the final hooter approached. Ashley Jackson scored from a penalty corner second before the end of the match, which finished 4-3 in India's favour.

The series is now at one-apiece, with the final match due to be played on Sunday morning.
