FANNY MAKES IT FOUR

England's women met Germany in Hamburg this afternoon in a game which saw Germany's Fanny Rinne (pictured) score a hat trick in their 4-1 win over the visitors. An England team made up mostly of youngsters was no match for the experienced Germans, although they managed to hold out until the 26th minute before Rinne scored her first from a penalty corner. Five mintutes into the second half Bowdon Hightown's Sally Walton scored from the penalty spot after Sarah Page's shot at goal was illegally stopped on the goal line. But it was not long before the German's were back in the lead courtesy of Julia Muller from a penalty corner. Two more goals from Rinne put the match beyond reach. The two teams meet again tomorrow.
