GARRARD STEPS DOWN AS ENGLAND SKIPPER

With just under two monthe to go before the start of the World Cup in Monchengladach, England Skipper Brett Garrard (pictured right) has been replaced by "co-Captains" Ben Hawes and Glenn Kirkham. In a briefly worded press release England Hockey announced today, "Following recent team meetings, it has been agreed by Jason Lee, Head Coach, and the Player's Leadership Group that it is healthy to pass Captaincy responsibilities to new players to recognise their excellent on and off pitch contributions over the last two years and to ensure that tasks are being shared around the team."
