DRAGONS SCORCH ROTTERDAM by Peter Colwill at the Euro Hockey League in Antwerp

In front of a packed house, Dragons provided a final day fairytale when they beat Rotterdam 5-4 to win their group.  The winning goal came from a penalty corner scored by Loick Luypaert in overtime.  Although Dragons had led 2-0, they were behind 4-3 with only two minutes left when Charles Vandeweghe equalised.
There was no fairytale ending for Banbridge, who produced a spirited performance but lost 5-3 to UHC Hamburg, with Scott Caruth, Bruce McCandless and Stephen Dowds scoring.  Montrouge (France) qualified in second place behind Hamburg.
Bruxelles were unable to emulate their opening match comeback and, needing only a draw, lost 4-0 to Campo de Madrid in the final match of Round 1.
