The new sponsorship deal between England Hockey and investment bank Investec will bring extra rewards to the successful clubs in the 2011-2012 season.
The Investec Women's England's Hockey League, which will be playing its first matches this weekend, now includes prize money for those clubs finishing first in the Premier Division and the Conferences. There is also prize money for the runners-up and the club winning the Premier Division Championship play-offs.
The announcement from England Hockey gives the total prize money as nearly £10,000.
Announcing the prize fund, England Hockey Chief Executive Sally Munday said, "Having the backing of a sponsor such as Investec is a tremendous vote of confidence in our league programme and in women's sport in England."
