CLIFTON KEEP UP THE RUNNING. Results and tables from today’s Investec League

Clifton, the surprise winners against Leicester last weekend, maintained their early season lead in the Investec League Premier Division with a 2-0 win over Cannock. Leicester remain pinned at the bottom of the table after a 0-4 defeat at home to Olton and West Warwicks. New girls Sutton Coldfield are still looking for a win after going down to free scoring Birmingham University, who have scored eight goals in two matches. Missing from today's fixture list were Reading and Slough who play each other tomorrow (Sunday). Either side could offer a challenge to Clifton's leadership, depending on the outcome of their match. Sevenoaks made up for their slip up last weekend with a 7-2 win over Chelmsford in the East Conference. Both Ipswich and St Albans are making the early season running with maximum points with wins over Old Loughtonians and Harleston Magpies respectively. The North Conference is turning into a division of the haves and have nots. Four sides are on maximum points with four sides still to record a point. University of Durham clocked up their 14th goal of the season with a 7-0 Whitley Bay & Tynemouth and lead the Conference on goal difference. In the West, Buckingham are carrying on where they left off last season, with maximum points courtesy of a 3-0 win away at Team Bath Buccaneers. Bath are propping up the Conference with zero points.
