RIBAS MAKES HISTORY FOR READING

Playing in the second of their two Round One matches in Barcelona today, Atletic Terrassa's Xavi Ribas made history by being the first player to score an own goal under the new EuroHockey League's rules. Their opponents, Reading, had scored earlier from a Richard Mantell penalty corner and the match finally ended 2-2. Both Reading and Terrassa progress through to Round 2.

The other clubs to go through to Round 2 as a result of this weekend's matches are Grunwald Poznan, UHC Hamburg, Rotterdam, Pembroke Wanderers, RC Polo de Barcelona and Waterloo Ducks. Scottish Club Kelburne was amongst the clubs eliminated.

TalkHockeyRadio will be in Paris for Round 1b which includes English clubs Beeston and East Grinstead.
