BOWDON SUFFER SECOND DEFEAT

The Women's Premiership champions, Bowdon Hightown, lost their second consecutive match this afternoon when they travelled to Birmingham University. Sally Walton's 70th minute penalty corner was their only goal in a match which saw Ashlie Caddick score for the University midway though the first half and Susie Gilbert convert a penalty corner four minutes before the end. Last term Hightown won every match except the final match of the season.

Slough's recent troubles do not seem to have been reflected in their performance on the pitch. Goals from Alex Scott, Lauren Penny and Louise Bevan gave them a 3-0 win over Clifton, in a match which was marred by a head injury to Clifton's Carla Dunnett which delayed the game for 45 minutes.

Leicester go to the top of the Premier Division after a 3-0 win over Reading at home. Leicester are one of two teams with a 100% record, the other being Olton who recorded a 2-1 win over Canterbury.

Scores from this afternoon's EH Cup matches will follow later.
