GERMANS TAKE MAXIMUM POINTS ON DAY THREE

It was a day for the Germans in the World Cup in Vienna today (Thursday). They lead Pool A in both the men’s and the women’s tournament on maximum points. The men managed 8-2 victories over both Russia and Switzerland, whilst the women also finished their match against the Czech Republic on 8-2 and went on to beat the Ukraine 10-2. The hosts, Austria, who had a good start to the men’s tournament, threw away a lead against Spain to lose their match 6-4. Scotland’s women drew against Australia 2-2 and beat the Czech Republic 5-1 and are third in Pool A. Men’s Pool A has three teams on nine points, Poland, Austria, and Spain, whilst in Women’s Pool B, the Netherlands and Spain are both on nine points.
