LEE NAMES HIS MAN

The captaincy of the GB men's squad to travel to Beijing has been settled with the appointment of Surbiton's Ben Hawes. Hawes was formerly the joint captain of the England side.

The question of whom was going to captain the side has been the subject of speculation for some weeks, with GB Head Coach Jason Lee arguing that the early announcement of a captain was not important. 27 year old Hawes has captained GB before and took the skipper's armband for the vital Olympic qualifier against India in Chile earlier this year.
