ENGLAND GO DOWN IN JUNIOR NATIONS OPENER

England got off to a disappointing start to the men's Junior Nations Championship in San Sebastian (Spain) by going down 1-0 to the host nation in their opening Pool A match. Scotland in Pool B managed a useful 2-2 draw against Germany. The other match in Pool A went to double figures as the Netherlands gave Austria a 15-0 drubbing. In the other match today Belgium beat Poland 4-3.
Pool A table after first day of play: 1. Netherlands 3 pts (+15), 2. Spain 3 pts (+1), 3. England 0 pts (-1) 4. Austria 0 pts (-15).

England next play on Tuesday when they meet the Netherlands.
