ENGLAND WOMEN SECURE EURO BRONZE

Neither final in the EuroHockey Junior Nations Championships could be settled in ordinary time in Spain this afternoon. England’s women managed a bronze medal in Valencia after overcoming Belarus 5-2, despite going into the break two goals behind. The Championship was won by Germany after their match against The Netherlands finished at 1-1 and went into golden goal extra time. The men’s final between Spain and The Netherlands ended in Spain’s favour after a goalless 70 minutes followed by golden goal extra time. The bronze was taken by Germany who beat Belgium 4-3. England’s play-off against Poland to decide fifth place saw England put six passed Poland. Final score 6-1.
