SLOUGH DELAY LEICESTER BEING CROWNED CHAMPIONS

Leicester missed out on their chance to secure the Women's Premiership this afternoon, with a very disappointing game at Slough. It was hard to believe that either club was at the top of the division in a niggly match which saw several players spending time on the naughty seat. A Lauren Penny goal for Slough in the 12^th minute was matched by a Katie Long equaliser just before the break and the matched ended on 1-1.

Second placed Reading won their match against Brooklands Poynton, which means that the gap between first and second has closed by two points to eight.

Bowdon Hightown pulled off their second surprise of the weekend when they beat Canterbury 1-0 at home to record a total of six points in two days. They remain in eighth place, but look increasingly likely to pull well away from the relegation play-off spot.

IN THE MEN'S PREMIER DIVISION, Reading played their second match of the weekend, going down 2-0 to Loughborough Students. Reading have only won one point from a possible six this weekend and the gap between them and second place Surbiton is now four points.
