
Great Britain achieved a creditable draw against world champions Germany in the first of a three match test series in Dusseldorf this evening (Thursday). GB's Simon Mantell opened the scoring from a pass from Matt Daly in the 24th minute. After the break the Germans came back strongly, with Sebastian Draghaun scoring from a penalty corner, followed by a goal in open play by Florian Keller. With under two minutes left to play Jonty Clarke (
pictured) netted the ball after Ashley Jackson had won the ball in midfield and broken into the circle. Final score 2-2.
Great Britain play the second of the series against Germany on Saturday.
