St Albans survival in the England Hockey League looked in serious doubt this afternoon when they travelled to Harborne for the first of their relegation play off matched. Although they looked in contention in the first half, a Howel Morris goal – his second of the match – and a last gasp penalty corner conversion, gave the home side a 5-2 win. In the Women's Relegation play offs, Aldrige and Walsall made a second half comeback after going into half time 1-0 down against Cambridge City. The final score there, 3-1 in favour of Aldridge. There were matches in the England Hockey League Championships today, with Reading men getting off to a good start with a win over Bowdon.
