BEIJING BECKONS AS MOORE SCORES LATER WINNER
Goals from Richard Mantell, Jonty Clarke and Rob Moore gave Great Britain a 3-2 win over India in this crucial match in Santiago this afternoon. India took an third minute lead after a penalty corner award was converted by V R Raghunath, but Mantell's own penalty corner conversion put the sides on even terms at the break. Ten minutes into the second half Jonty Clarke was on target to give GB the lead from open play. A late penalty corner to India was converted Raghunath but with only seconds left it was Moore who scored the vital winning goal. This was a match which at times saw some agricultural tackling, with Vickram Kanth and Shivendra Singh spending time in the sin bin. GB are now the only side on maximum points but the crunch match will come on Sunday when almost certainly the two sides will meet again to decide which will qualify. GB's next match will be on Saturday when they meet the best of the outsiders, Austria.
