We had some problems getting results from Antwerp in the EuroHockey League yesterday but we have now received the final results. Loughborough Students had made qualification a certainty by there 3-1 win over Kelburne on Saturday, and it only remained for the Scots to see off Swiss champions Luzerner, which they did with a 5-3 win. As a result, the two British teams go through to the next round. You have to pinch yourself to realise that all three English clubs have survived round one, whilst the Germans only have one survivor, Uhlenhorster, who qualified along with Dutch rivals Bloemendaal, from Pool C. Irish side, Pembroke Wanderers ended their EuroHockey dream on Sunday with a 2-3 defeat at the hands of Pocstiwiec Poznan. Full results will be available shortly on our Website at www.talkhockeyradio.co.uk.
We regret that on Saturday we credited two of the Loughborough Students goals to Michael and Jonathan Christie. We were a bit baffled at the time but we were relying on information from official sources. It now appears that there was mix-up between the numbers of the two teams and the scorers for Loughborough Students were in fact Robert Smith and James Osborn.
